Prima il piacere, poi il dovere. La stagione WTA è giunta al termine già da qualche settimana ma Caroline Wozniacki è già al lavoro per preparare il 2020, anno olimpico. Sotto l’occhio vigile del famoso preparatore atletico Ben Bruno (quello che prepara tutte le star di Hollywood che devono affrontare film d’azione, per intenderci), la danese si è sottoposta a sedute di allenamento durissime. Accanto a lei anche il marito David Lee.

Thanks @benbrunotraining for kicking my butt this last week! Ben told me that I was going to be sore from that last exercise in my post, but I was so confident, I kept adding weight to the bar. Needless to say, two days later I am still laying in bed with very sore legs and glutes lol! What do you like to do to stay fit? #nopainnogain #bettermeforme

@carowozniacki and @davidlee came in for a romantic couples workout, so of course we did heavy single leg deadlifts. Caroline broke the women’s record with 75 pounds on the bar for 8 reps, and David set the men’s record with 150 pounds on the bar for 6 reps, which beat the old gym record by 25 pounds and is really impressive given he’s 6’10”. This is my favorite way to load single leg deadlifts, and I find it targets the hamstrings and glutes better than just about anything else once you can get the form locked in and load it up. I love when clients get new records, and as time goes by, we keep seeing the ceiling for what’s possible get higher and higher. As an aside, I might start a side business for romantic couples outings where we just deadlift and push sleds and stuff. #datenight

In precedenza la coppia aveva trascorso qualche giorno in giro per l’Islanda, per poi volare in Messico e partecipare alle nozze della collega di Caroline, Nicole Gibbs, nell’esclusivo resort El Dorado Golf & Beach Club. L’occasione per rilassarsi sulla spiaggia e sfoggiare una forma fisica davvero invidiabile. Sì, Caroline sembra già pronta per la prossima stagione.

Iceland was amazing!! We chased waterfalls, snowmobiled on a glacier, walked inside an ice cave, saw explosive geysers, got dropped 124 meters into a volcano and walked on 50.000(!!!) year old lava rock! We also ATV’ed on black sand beaches and swam in the blue lagoon! Iceland we will be back for more! On to the next adventure. Ireland here we come!
